Meet The Team | Rebecca Dukes, Head of Boutique and Retail

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I have worked for Tradelinens for the past five years as Head of Boutique and Retail. I work within a strong team who use their knowledge and experience to problem solve and we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service.

How did you break into the linen industry?

After working in sport for 20 years I decided I needed a change and a new challenge. I gave up my job for a new role in retail and discovered that I loved it! After 2 years in fashion retail the opportunity became available at Tradelinens and 5 years later I still love my job!

Tell us about a typical day..

Our days are always busy! We have lots of new enquiries to reply to, orders to raise and progress and lots of conversations with our factories and procurement team. Usually we will speak to a new client who needs our help and advice. There is a lot of creative chat in our office so it is a great place to work.

What makes a hotel, B&B or luxury retreat special?

I really value amazing customer service and those extra touches when I go away. It goes without saying that I expect gorgeous bedlinen and super luxury duvet and pillows! I also love my food so great dining experiences are important too. My favourite hotel stays are those that take me away from my usual day to day life so ideally by the sea or in the middle of the countryside with fabulous views!

What’s your favourite project you have worked on so far?

I love the projects that are a little bit different - castles and shepherds’ huts have been a couple of my favourites.

What gets you up in the morning?

The cats always want feeding! In the Boutique team we never know what is around the corner as lots of our orders come in and go out in the same week. So this job can be unpredictable and I love that!

If you were cast away on a desert island, what would you take?

My list would be too long so probably a huge bag to pack it all into!
